CBSE Class 12 Mathematics – Part 1: Relations, Functions & Algebra

(Course ID : MAC-57)

School & Boards Exam - (स्कूल और बोर्ड परीक्षायें) » CBSE - Central Board of Secondary Education » Class XII » Mathematics

CBSE Class 12 Mathematics की मजबूत तैयारी with conceptual learning, problem-solving, Board exam practice और advanced mathematical skills.

CBSE Class 12 Mathematics – Part A is the first part of a structured four-part Mathematics series designed primarily for Class 12 CBSE Board students. The course can also be useful for students following other school boards who want to strengthen their understanding of Class 12 Mathematics concepts.
The course focuses on conceptual clarity, systematic problem-solving, numerical practice and examination-oriented preparation. The syllabus covered in Part A includes Relations and Functions, Inverse Trigonometric Functions, Matrices and Determinants.
The course is available in both English and Hindi medium. Teachers are requested to clearly mention the teaching medium while creating a batch so that students can select the course according to their preference.

Topics Covered
1. Relations and Functions (संबंध एवं फलन)
Students learn different types of relations, including reflexive, symmetric, transitive and equivalence relations. The chapter also covers one-one and onto functions, composite functions and inverse functions. Students practise conceptual and application-based questions to develop a strong understanding of functions.

2. Inverse Trigonometric Functions (प्रतिलोम त्रिकोणमितीय फलन)
The chapter covers the concept and definition of inverse trigonometric functions, including their domains, ranges and principal value branches. Students practise standard results, expressions and examination-oriented problems.

3. Matrices (आव्यूह)
Students learn the concept and notation of matrices, order, equality and different types of matrices, including zero and identity matrices. The chapter covers transpose, symmetric and skew-symmetric matrices and operations on matrices such as addition, multiplication and scalar multiplication.
Students also learn important properties of matrix operations, including the non-commutative nature of matrix multiplication and the concept of invertible matrices. All matrices considered in the course have real entries.

4. Determinants (सारणिक)
Students learn determinants of square matrices up to order 3 × 3, along with minors and cofactors. The chapter includes applications of determinants in finding the area of a triangle, as well as the adjoint and inverse of a square matrix.
Students also learn methods for solving systems of linear equations in two or three variables having a unique solution using the inverse of a matrix. The course includes systematic problem-solving and examination-oriented practice.

5. Practice, Tests and Study Material
The course is supported by structured practice and assessment to help students strengthen their understanding and prepare effectively for examinations.
• R.D. Sharma Mathematics for Class 12 is recommended as a reference and practice book.
• Two tests are included, comprising one objective test and one subjective test.
• Selected questions from the previous 10 years of relevant Board examination papers are practised in class.
• Teachers may provide additional worksheets, practice questions and revision material according to the academic level and learning requirements of students.

The course is designed to provide a strong foundation in the first part of the Class 12 Mathematics syllabus while developing the conceptual understanding, accuracy and problem-solving skills required for CBSE Board examinations and future competitive Mathematics preparation.
