The Indian Olympiad Qualifier in Mathematics (IOQM), earlier known as Pre-RMO, is the first stage of the Mathematics Olympiad program in India. Students who qualify IOQM advance to the Regional Mathematical Olympiad (RMO), then to the Indian National Mathematical Olympiad (INMO), and finally get the opportunity to represent India at the prestigious International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO).

IOQM Eligibility Criteria
Students studying in Classes 8 to 12 who satisfy the prescribed age criteria are eligible to appear for the Indian Olympiad Qualifier in Mathematics (IOQM). The examination is the first stage of India's Mathematical Olympiad Programme leading to RMO, INMO, IMOTC and ultimately the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO). Students with a strong interest in Mathematics, logical reasoning, number theory, algebra, geometry and combinatorics are encouraged to participate and begin preparation early.
How does the Olympiad pathway work?
The Mathematics Olympiad pathway in India is conducted under the guidance of the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education (HBCSE), in association with the National Board for Higher Mathematics (NBHM), under the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India.
