CBSE Class 7 Mathematics Part 1 Foundation for JEE & NEET

CBSE Class 7 Mathematics – Part 1 is a structured Mathematics course designed to help Class 7 students build strong conceptual foundations, improve calculation skills and develop systematic problem-solving abilities. The course is suitable for CBSE students and can also support learners following ICSE and State Board curricula.
The course uses concept-based teaching, solved examples, practice problems, mathematical formulas, properties and regular revision to help students understand Mathematics clearly and apply concepts confidently. It also provides a strong foundation for future Olympiad, IIT Foundation and other competitive Mathematics preparation.
Topics Covered
1. Integers (पूर्णांक) and V-BODMAS
Students learn addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of integers along with important properties such as associative and commutative properties, additive identity, additive and multiplicative inverses, multiplication of positive and negative integers, multiplication by zero and the distributive property.
The chapter also covers properties of division, V-BODMAS, LCM and HCF, along with numerical and application-based practice.

2. Fractions (भिन्न)
Students learn proper, improper and mixed fractions and practise addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of fractions. The course includes word problems, division of one fraction by another fraction and arranging fractions in ascending and descending order.

3. Decimals (दशमलव)
Students develop fluency with decimal numbers and learn multiplication and division of decimals. The chapter includes multiplication by 10, 100 and 1000 and division of one decimal number by another decimal number.

4. Rational Numbers (परिमेय संख्याएँ)
Students learn the definition and properties of rational numbers, equivalent rational numbers, representation of rational numbers on the number line, standard form and comparison of rational numbers. The topic also introduces relevant concepts involving prime numbers.

5. Operations on Rational Numbers (परिमेय संख्याओं पर संचालन)
Students practise addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of rational numbers. The chapter covers reciprocals, additive and multiplicative inverses, V-BODMAS, LCM, HCF and word problems involving rational numbers.

6. Exponents and Powers (घातांक और घातियाँ)
Students learn exponents and the laws of exponents, including powers of powers and numbers with exponent zero. The chapter also includes miscellaneous problems, decimal number representation and standard form for writing large numbers.

7. Calculation Skills and Mathematical Practice
The course additionally focuses on essential calculation skills, including:
